This class will walk students through the basic of soldering including, basic safety and prep of using a soldering iron, proper soldering technique, how to solder wire to wire, wire to terminals, and soldering through hole components on a printed circuit board. The students will then be guided through assembling a small electronics kit which they will take home with them along with the soldering iron they use in class. Triple Cities Makerspace is pleased to announce that we will be having a media digitizing day, on May 3rd. This is a free event that is open to the public. Bring your old media and we will make a digital copy that you can take with you. We will be digitizing photos, unbound paper documents, camera negatives, VHS tapes, audio tapes, floppies, 8-tracks, records, and reel to reel audio tapes. Take old family photos, vintage music, home movies, and preserve them with a digital copy that is accessible on your computer, tablet, or smartphone.
Triple Cities Makerspace is offering a free into to Arduino class on 5-31-2014 from 3:30PM-5:30 PM. This class will cover the basics of programming Arduinos as well as an introduction to the platform and design ethos.
Students will learn on the Paperduino and will leave with their own Paperduino. More info on the Paperduino can be found here:
