In this class you will learn how the parts of a desktop computer function and interact. You will also learn how to set up Windows 7, install software drivers, and update a computer. You will leave the class with a Dell Desktop computer with a Dual Core 2.6GHz processor, at least 2GB of RAM, 250GB hard drive, DVD burner, as well as a flat screen LCD monitor, keyboard, and mouse. This class is a great way to get an affordable computer while also learning about how modern desktop computing technologies work. This class will be on 12-21-2014 from 6:30PM-9:30PM




Super Beginner Crochet 101 Class

Super beginner crochet 101. Make a warm and cozy scarf for that special loved one this holiday season with this absolute no experience necessary super-beginner crochet class. You’ll leave with confidence in your skills and the tools to get started on other projects.

EL wire and NeoPixel Class

Give yourself the ability to illuminate. Whether it’s making Halloween props, finishing off a cool costume, or learning a cool skill – this class has everything you want to know about LED gadgetry. Students will learn about electroluminescent wire, including basic usage, wring, and will leave with a 2 meter piece of EL wire with a controller and will be walked through attaching EL wire to a fabric carrying bag. Students will also learn the basics of NeoPixels and will be instructed on usage and programming of Neopixels, and will leave with an Atmel controller and a bar array of NeoPixels. Learn to Solder Class

This class will walk students through the basic of soldering including, basic safety and prep of using a soldering iron, proper soldering technique, how to solder wire to wire, wire to terminals, and soldering through hole components on a printed circuit board. The students will then be guided through assembling a small electronics kit which they will take home with them along with the soldering iron they use in class. Open house/birthday party

Come join Triple Cities Makersapce in celebrating its first birthday by having an open house and celebration! We have officially been incorporated for a year, and what better birthday present could we ask for than getting our 501(c)3! This is an open public event, and we encourage everyone to check out the changes at the space, celebrate with us, and of course there will be cake! Event takes place 9-7-2014 starting at 1 PM.
