Welcome to the TCMakerspace blog. This blog is the result of some awesome work of one of our members Jaime. In time we hope that this blog will come to replace the mail list.

I’d like to take a little time and share with everyone what has been going on with TCMakerspace. We had our first group meeting last Friday (10/12/12) and it was a great success. Not  everyone was able to make it but it was still a lively and open forum for discussion. One great thing to come out of the meeting was that everyone would like to have weekly Friday meetings. We haven’t decided on a permanent/semi-permanent venue   , but as soon as we do it will be announced both here and via the mailing list. We hope that by having regular public meetings that we can encourage more people to join us and to keep interest in the idea strong. Notes from the meeting should be up shortly, as soon as our note taker has a chance to transcribe them.

I would like to share some pics of one of the possible spaces that we have been scouting. There are three large rooms and one smaller room in the main area, in addition there is a large gymnasium with bleachers that overlook it. The main area is all brick and concrete and electrical and communication wiring is all via metal conduit attached to the wall, which should make upgrading and adding new wires much easier. We aren’t sure at the moment if we will be able to procure the space, but if we are able to we would like to invite all tentative members to come take a look at it as a group.
